The collection consists of documentation relating to performances and press coverage of Perkinson's musical activities in New York and abroad from his adolescence onward. It includes a scrapbook kept by his mother, Vereda Pearson, as well as concert programs, announcements, and clippings. There is also material relating to Vereda Pearson's educational and musical work and several clippings about the jazz musician Billy Taylor.

Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson (1932- ) is a composer, conductor, and pianist. He received his B.M. and M.M. from the Manhattan School of Music and went on to study conducting at Princeton University, Tanglewood, and summer festivals in Europe.
